AskPat 223 Episode Transcript
Pat Flynn: What's up, everybody? Pat Flynn here, and welcome to Episode 223 of AskPat. Thank you so much for joining me today. No sponsor today. No question today. Today is actually Thanksgiving here in the US.
I know a lot of you actually don't celebrate Thanksgiving but you know I do. It's a big deal for my family, and one thing we do at the dinner table is we go around and every person, even my son now, he's only four years old but we did this last year and it was really cute. Every year, every person at the table, we have a whole family there and we talk about something we're thankful for. That happened in the previous year. So I wanted to share that tradition with you and actually talk a little bit about what I'm thankful for to you because you know earlier this year I had this idea for this crazy show called AskPat. Five days a week, didn't know how it was going to be done, thought it was crazy because it was just so much work it seemed but thanks to my amazing team, especially Mindy, who edits this show, and Matt, my executive producer. It’s been amazing.
More than my team, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you. This has been just such an incredible ride producing this show I look forward to it every week when I record five episodes. Sometimes I record more, I get ahead of myself. Sometimes I record the night before but I've learned to batch these to make it easier for everybody, especially Mindy. And without the questions that come in from you through SpeakPipe at AskPat.com there would be no show. We're approaching three million downloads now in less than a year and you know it's just requiring a few hours of work from me per month now and to hear the responses from everybody out there. I know some of you actually subscribe to the show and listen to every episode. A lot of you actually prefer AskPat, which is really cool and I talk to a lot of you in person at conferences and events and meet-ups and some of you say, “man, I love AskPat because it's just shorter, I can fit it in my schedule, it’s to the point, and I don't even listen to SPI anymore,” my other podcast and that's cool.
It's so cool that I've been able to fill in that gap now for those of you who weren't able to listen to Smart Passive Income or perhaps preferred to listen to something shorter and more to the point and I just wanted to thank you. I'm just so blessed to have such an amazing community. I feel and don't tell anybody else I said this but, I feel that the community behind Smart Passive Income and AskPat and all the stuff that I have going on in my brand is just the best community out there and so I wanted to thank you because I know this could not happen without you.
My income has grown so much this year and that is just hopefully as a result of me doing what I can to help provide more value to you because I feel like and this is the business motto that I've had ever since day one with GreenExamAcademy.com when I first got online. The more I can serve you guys, the more I get paid in return and it might not be right away. It might not be in the form of money or an income but it's just in some way, shape, or form, it always comes back to me. So if you're looking for ways to pay me back. It doesn't necessarily need to be by buying something or going through an affiliate link, I mean just sharing this or listening to the show. It just means so much to me.
So, thank you, thank you, thank you. That's all the time I'm going to take of yours today. I know a lot of you are celebrating Thanksgiving as well, so hopefully you maybe start this tradition in your family too. It's one of my favorite things to do every year and something I look forward to because we can reflect back on everything that's happened and so for you we're all sitting at the dinner table right now. It's my turn and I'm saying thank you for you because without you this show would not be possible, and I appreciate you.
Thanks so much. Happy Thanksgiving. If you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, happy Thursday to you. You're amazing, and I'll see you in the next episode of AskPat. Love ya.
