Welcome to the Pitch Your Pod Contest

A first-of-it's-kind competition where contestants from across the WORLD submitted their pitches for a new podcast.

Inspired by the countless conversations we've all had with friends and family about “what would make a good podcast”, we decided to give the SPI audience a chance to do just that—to start their OWN podcast.

Here's how it all worked…

• After reading and agreeing to the Contest Rules and Terms & Conditions, contestants recorded a 3-5 minute “pitch”, during which they detailed their ideas for a new podcast.
• Once the submission window ended, we held a public vote where the audience selected their top 3 pitches.
• Simultaneously, Team SPI conducted a company-wide vote and assessed the pitches using the same grading rubric as the audience.
• Collectively, Team SPI discussed the results of the audience and team votes and determined the contest winners.
• Finally, we announced the winners live on 1/26.

📚 — Grading Rubric

For review, here is the grading rubric with which Team SPI and the audience used when reviewing each pitch.

When listening to the pitches, do not focus on the audio quality, the “um's” and “uh's”, or mispronunciations. Remember, this is the first time for many to get behind a microphone and share their thoughts with the world.

Instead, look to answer the following questions:

• Was the title clear and concise?
• Did the description adequately summarize what the podcast will be about?
• Was the entry criteria (listed abobe) clearly defined in the pitch?
