Top 10 Book Recommendations from the SPI Book Club!

Last month, I sent out an email to the SPI Book Club asking for book recommendations to share here on the blog. Here’s what I asked:

  • What is one book you read this year that you’ve really loved?
  • And what is the number one reason you recommend the book?

I started receiving book recommendations almost immediately after I sent the email, and I’m so grateful. Thanks so much for sharing your current book favorites with me, book club members! There were so many amazing book recommendations to choose from, including one book we picked for the August edition of the book club:

Never Split the Difference by Chris Voss as recommended by Matt (@mds on Twitter)! [Full Disclosure: As an affiliate, I receive compensation if you purchase through this link.]

In addition, as promised, we created a top ten! But before we jump into those book recommendations, if you aren’t yet a SPI Book Club member, I’d encourage you to sign up. It’s free, you get a new book recommendation each month, you benefit from regular discounts on books or special giveaways from some of my favorite authors, and most of all it’s loads of fun!

The Automatic Customer by John Warrillow10. The Automatic Customer: Creating a Subscription Business In Any Industry by John Warrillow

“This is a timely and most important book for all business owners today. While the principles in the book are something many of us have been working on for a few years, it clearly takes the importance to the next level. It also takes away any excuses we may have for not knowing what to do. So to sum up my number one reason—it propelled me to take more decisive and intentional action to create subscriptions in my business.”

The Emotion Code by Bradley Nelson8. The Emotion Code by Dr. Bradley Nelson

“No matter how much you learn about creating wealth or passive income, or anything else in business, if 90 percent of your mind (which you are not consciously using) broadcasts messages that are not conducive to abundance, then you’ll simply never achieve your true goals unless those are released out of your subconscious. This book, written by a chiropractor, teaches you some basic methods to locate and release these trapped emotions. He developed these simple techniques with clients in his chiropractic practice, and teaches them to the reader so that you can even do them yourself. People all over the world are using this, including in my own family, and finding tremendous success in all areas of life, not just business.”

Give and Take by Adam Grant4. Give and Take: Why Helping Others Drives Our Success by Adam Grant

“The book is incredible in every way, but is primarily focused on reciprocity and giving! It differentiates between givers, takers, and matchers and showcases examples of those who give, and how that contributes to their success. Moreover, [Pat], I think it fits your personality and purpose in life to a tee, and is a great example of the reason you’ve become as successful as you are. I could not recommend it any more!”
