We are all in sales, of one kind or another. Perhaps we're not directly selling for money (although some of us are), but every day we are selling, in one form or another. Perhaps you're trying to convince your kids to brush their teeth, or you're asking your best friend for a favor—I've got news for you, you're in sales.

When we better understand how to move people, all aspects of our lives (not just our businesses) will improve. We will be happier, and everyone around us will be happier. I loved that Dan used a lot of different examples of selling that didn't involve an exchange of money, both rather an exchange of time, or ideas and opinions.
I was surprised and pleased by the amount of research that Dan cites as he tackles head-on the old ideas of selling (“always be closing”), demonstrating why those ways aren't the best ways after all.
