Just a quick question, did you have a comprehensive business plan when you started in the LEED and this blog? Or have you refined it as you have gone along?

Actually, those other LEED websites I know for a fact have been contacted and have been sparring with the higher-ups for a while. I expect something will happen soon if they don’t comply.

LEEDUser, however, is ok I believe because they are not in direct competition with the USGBC. They are selling a totally different product, while us other guys had study guides and material and classes that you could say competed with their classes and study material. In retrospect, if I knew this was going to happen, I would of stayed away from LEED in the domain name in the first place, and build up a reputation with a different name and domain. You don’t have to have that kind of thing in your domain name to rank high in the search engines, although it does help a little in the beginning.

How come other LEED domains don’t seem to be affected like your site was? A quick search turns up LEEDTeacher, LEEDTraining, LEEDUser, and others are all still advertising? Were you targeted in any special way? Could you have gotten LEED brand permission beforehand? In retrospect would you have done anything differently with your brand?
