  1. Niche Site Earnings and Directory Listing Update

A lot of you have been requesting an update on my security guard training niche site, so here it is!

If you aren’t familiar with this particular site of mine, I recommend you read up on the niche site duel – where I and several other bloggers and internet marketers share and reveal everything from idea generation to monetization (and we reveal our niches and domain names too!).

    Earnings Update

passive incomeCurrently, the site is still ranking #1 for my target keyword and primarily making money from Google Adsense, and thanks to some great advice from Spencer over at (who has his last day of work at his 9-to-5 job today…congrats Spencer!), I made a couple of little tweaks that dramatically increased my income from an average of $8.00 per day, to a whopping $19.09 per day since the changes I made on March 2nd.

That’s a 139% increase in earnings, and over the course of an entire year that’s an extra $4,047.85! This just shows you that even little changes can make a huge difference over the long haul.

Here’s a graph showing you my earnings since the change: (more…)

  2. 19 WordPress Plugins (Some You Probably Didn’t Know About)

I get asked a lot of the same exact questions over and over again: how do I setup a blog, how do I setup a newsletter, where did I get my blog theme (it was custom built), and what wordpress plugins do I use.

Hmm…maybe I should setup my own blogging course or something.

Anyways, I’ve never really listed the WordPress plugins that I use, so here it is. 25 of my favorite WordPress plugins – some you probably know, and some you probably don’t.

  3. Subscribers Magnet WordPress Plugin—Awesome?

Note: This is a review for a WordPress plugin that is no longer available. For a current list of recommended plugins, check out my Resources page.

Over the past week, I’ve received at least 15 emails from SPI readers asking me whether or not the new Subscribers Magnet WordPress Plugin by MaxBlogPress (makers of the popular WordPress Plugin, Ninja Affiliate) would be something worth investing in. To be honest with you, I hadn’t even heard about the plugin until some of you emailed me about it.

I built my online businesses with WordPress sites and never once paid for a single plugin, so I was a bit skeptical because I only know a handful of plugins that are worth paying for, such as WP-Wishlist. With so many people wanting my opinion about it, I decided to see what the big deal was.

Before I go on, I just wanted to say this to you up front: I don’t normally do posts about products like this here on SPI. I usually only promote products that I’m hardcore familiar with (i.e. Market Samurai), but I did do my best to get as familiar with the plugin as possible so I could leave you an honest assessment. There was apparently a ton of buzz about this plugin (which I somehow missed until recently), so my goal here is to give all of you my first-hand, educated opinion about it so that you can make your own educated decision whether you like it or not.
