In this session of the Smart Passive Income Podcast, to kick of the new year I share something special that happened to me that happened as a result of producing the SPI podcast.

This is session is a little different than the rest in that it’s more inspirational and motivational (as opposed to stuff that you can totally take action with right now), but the message and lessons behind it are still extremely important.

I’ve hinted about this a couple of times in the past, but last year I was hired by a Hollywood Producer to help him with an upcoming film. As a result I was able to fulfill a life long dream of mine, which I talk more about in the show.

Even though I tell a story in this session, I do my best to try to include some tips for your online business or blog, including my overall web and social media strategy to help promote this film.

I’m extremely proud to be a part of this project and share it here with you today !

If you’re at work and cannot listen to the audio or you just aren’t into podcasts, I recommend you open up the transcript at the bottom of this post so you can read through the session instead. The transcript is already available for you.

Pat, you are always wonderful. You are a leader when it comes to motivation and I will also like if you can start a blog on personal development, I am pretty sure you will touch more lives.

I also have dreams of working on a Hollywood set but that should be me as an Actor.

I am pretty sure the pay is awesome and can’t wait to read about it in your January income report.

God bless man

“Pat on IMDB” … now I bet that wasn’t something you’ve imagine was in the cards when you got laid off a few years back =) Congrats dude!

How about LIKING that IMDB page on Facebook and Pat updating his profile there?
His contact page is still empty. Lots of opportunities …

Pat January 16, 2012 at 11:19 am

It costs a money fee to build out the page on IMDB – even to just put an image on it, I believe.

Sounds like IMDB also knows about how to generate passive income :)

I totally understand how you feel about trying to help other people. It’s rewarding when you help someone and they can make some sort of headway, but it’s impossible to help everyone.

Congratulations with your success Pat. I just wanted to thank you to add a Transcript as I feel like that actually makes me listen to your content faster. It’s almost a Tim Ferris way of looking at things, if your can read a 1hr podcast in 20 minutes then you’ve hacked 40 minutes off :-)

Not that I don’t enjoy listening to your show or anything, I just want to get to the good stuff when I listen to Podcasts and not neccesarily be entertained by a lot of fluff / filler.

cool, i played lacrosse for 10years. I didn’t even know about this movie until this podcast. I’m surprised the fanpage didnt have more likes as lacrosse is pretty diehard and growing fast. Sounds like a good movie. For facebook seems you could contact lacrosse fanpage admins to broadcast it for you and run super cheap FB ads to your fanpage…..heck even incentive people to like the page by doing a giveaway for some shirts of the movie or like a lacrosse helmet/stick used in the movie or something. anyways sounds cool.

Pat January 16, 2012 at 11:03 am

All that stuff is planned – the movie is still 4 months out so there’s a ton of time (and money) left to be spent :)

We already have some contests lined up and will be doing some paid ads soon. Thanks!

it’s amazing how the movie industry is using the stuff that we as IM’ers do from the comfort of our own homes, and using it for their industry.

Just shows you that what we do is more powerful than you might think. Gotta love it ;-)

Good stuff.. gotta take it one step at a time. Opportunities come all the time but its a question whether you have the experience and understanding to take advantage of them. That’s why taking massive action is key… and as long as you do the right thing (my opinion) then things start taking off.

Great post as usual. There is always that dilemma about who you can help and who you can’t or just don’t have time for. The trick is to figure out your limits and be honest with folks.

and I am really liking your “be everywhere” concept. Makes so much sense.

It’s crazy what kind of opportunities come to you from this blogging stuff. I have an authority blog in progress on my old college major… very in progress, but even still I’ve had job offers come in from people that have come across it online.

BTW maybe I’ve missed it already, but are you making a post about the results you’re getting from Build My Rank anytime soon? I’ve added it to my arsenal in the last month and unless something else I’m doing is starting to work like crazy, BMR is the shiznit.

Great podcast, but I really loved your final message about planting seeds. No one knows what you’re passionate about, what you’re an expert at, what you can do . . . unless you put it out there! The great thing about online publishing is that it’s getting easier, cheaper, and more powerful all the time.

What you said about not finding opportunities, but creating opportunities resonated with me. I’ve had a similar belief for years: “No one gives you your dream job. You create your dream job.”

This podcast came at the perfect time for me. I’ve been writing a travel blog for years, but lately I’ve been planning to launch a podcast and do videos. Thanks for the inspiration.

Super inspiring. Proof of the power of the internet to created relationships ( networking). I’ve made friends in the music biz all over the world that have turned into biz partners as well, still to this day I’m AMAZED when I’m sitting on SKYPE and working with a producer half way across the world. Looks like a very uplifting flick, and your kicking ass on the marketing of it is sparking a bazillion ideas!

Great podcast. Congrats. What a challenge and amazing experience for you I’m sure.

It’s great how the foundational knowledge you learn from what you’ve done here (SPI) can apply to so many different projects/niches/businesses.

I must say, that since hearing your “be everywhere” message, I really took that to heart. Since, my wife and I have started our own podcast to compliment the message from my site (it’s amazing how many people are downloading it!), in final phase of copy-editing my first print book, posting youtube videos more interacting more on twitter. Etc.

Crush It! and Thank You Economy were also valuable as well. Another good book I just read is the Millionaire Messenger.

OH, and just heard you mention Cliff R. I originally heard him on one of your first podcasts I think… He’s been great! And even gave our podcast a shout out on his episode (PodCastAnswerman.com) 245. That felt so great!

Something I also realized and learned from watching Gary V. is not getting so caught up on producing the best quality video for posting to Youtube. Yes, I’m a quality snob as well, but the process is just too long for creating amazing video all the time and was really limiting the “want” to post videos.

So I got a joby gorilla tripod and attache my iPhone to my passenger side sun visor in my car and just shoot video’s on my daily commute–or anywhere else. Edit them real quick when I get home with Reel Director App, and publish them right to Youtube from my phone. Easy peasy!

Thanks for all you do, blessings, and keep on keepin’ on!
