I couldn’t agree more, but I have to admit that i have had several websites and have not thought about a testimonal page i alsways assumed they would just go through my contact us page so it is really good information. And sometimes the simplest things pass us by.

You know, actually a lot of times people will be happy to do a video for you, and all you have to do is ask. It is nice to offer them something back, like possibly a discount coupon code for a later product, or something free you may have like an eBook or something.

This post has been helpful. I have received positive emails on one of my products in the past but have overlooked asking whether I may utilize the feedback for marketing purposes. I am interested in finding out how it is possible to entice contributors to participate in a video testimonial. Do you offer an incentive at all.

Well said Zemalf. Definitely throw in a nice way to ask and you’re sure to receive some valuable testimonials you can use later on.

On my website, I do have this text in the testimonial section:

“Do YOU have something you’d like to say? Well, I’d love to hear it! Leave me a message here. Thanks to everyone!”

I guess I could make it a little more focused and add the word testimonial, or “if you were happy with…”

Thanks mate for the CopyDoodles link and a great article too. I’m with you on the not using fake testimonials – that’s a short road for sure – I couldn’t ever use a testimonial I just made up.

To add something, maybe obvious, but to get testimonials, you gotta remember to ask for them And have easily accessible way for people to send you their testimonials.

I’m sure you Pat have this set up nicely, but I’ve seen businesses where I didn’t find “leave a testimonial” anywhere, and I was looking because I wanted to leave one.. Yes, they had “contact us” form, but that’s not the same. That product / business missed at least one testimonial, and all they had to do was to add “We’d love your feedback, here’s the link” at the end of email they sent.
