I actually do this same thing, Ive seen 11% of my total site traffic comes from associated content (text links) and Ehow. I also post on xomba.
I can’t track traffic the other way, but i guess i probably get about the same visa-versa.
I will say that this will also get you more back links as well as dominating your niche.
On some keywords, my articles/site are 5 of the top 10 google results.
I have only been webmastering for 3 months now, so im a noob. But i dont know why anyone would not try this. It takes some time, but i pull in close to 200 a month from the article sites, and then the income from my site is just icing (only bout 35 a month atm).

@Pat, challenge for you … Keyword optimize AFTERWARDS also. As time progresses things might change. For instance weddings and romance =February -June.
Keyword your article AFTERWORDS also and see if there is more tweaking to do . ust my thought.

Well there are other factors and you will need a couple months to explore.

For instance, with niche blogs, how much time/work promoting, or how much to spend to outsource promotion?
Do you google adsense, or simply use affliates or other type s of advertising.

In a real sense aren’t the ehow articles a form of promotion for your blogs? So really, it’s not a total comparison, it is more a working together.

It’s true that I do write about whatever I know about, because that’s what I know best. I do, however, do keyword research after I choose the topic.

It’s true, it won’t be a 1:1 true comparison. Thanks for your input.

The main difference I see is that for your eHow articles you just wrote about whatever came to you without researching the niche or keywords you were writing on (correct me if I'm wrong).
