That's crazy! Well, the payout helped, but I didn't put all your eggs into their basket, and started building up your own online properties! :)

Anyway, I'm making my way through your story so I'll say hey, or ask a question as I go along if that's alright! :)

I've even got my girlfriend over here checking out your income statements and asking when we're going to be making that kind of money! LOL

Hey Warren - the eHow story is pretty crazy. They closed down their writer's compensation program about a year ago, but kept everyone's articles up and earning an income. I was making about $200 to $400 a month a few months after this blog post was published, up until May 2011 when they decided to take down the articles all together and cut off people's income. They contacted us with an option to let the articles die off, or, sell them the rights to the articles. They offered me over $3000 for the articles I had written, and honestly only a few of them were the big moneymakers (80/20 rule), so it made sense for me to sell them.

I could have posted the articles elsewhere, but I could easily write similar articles (knowing which ones performed well) and try to get back some residual income, but I'm currently working on more important, potentially way more profitable projects at the moment.

Hope this helps. Cheers!

Hi Pat, I'm not sure if you bother to respond to comments on articles that are this old, but I'm getting interested in the ehow story! :)

I notice that when I click to read something that sounds interesting eHow has pulled them all (at least the one's I'm clicking), they do however keep the article pointing back to themselves which means the articles themselves (which are still in Google) are sending them valuable traffic).

If this is only a handful of articles no big deal, but if they had you write all these articles under the pretense of building residual income and then pulled them (but keeping the traffic) it seems a little shady on their part!

Anyway I'll subscribe in case you respond, and if not I may find out further along the timeline! :)

Have a great day Pat!

I'm not ENTIRELY sure, but I think that sites like infobarrel.com, busika.com, squidoo.com and hubpages.com accept countries outside of the US. Someone will have to confirm that with me, but I think it would be a great place to start by looking at these websites. Squidoo and Hubpages are a little different than eHow, but they can be just as lucrative, if not more.
