I found this post very interesting. Maybe the 29.95 vs. 29.99 isn’t statistically significant, but it’s interesting anyways. What about charging 29.99 and 9/10 like gas stations?

I like the idea of just switching to a new price and if someone complains give them a refund or the lower price. How else are you supposed to find the happy medium? I think the customers will understand.

@Pat, I think it’s also important to note to NOT change your prices often, as this will lead your potential customers to wait until a price is established. In certain situations, I have seen it where people will wait to see if a price will continue to drop… or although if you make it clear in your sales pitch that this price will not last for long, then people will definitely be more willing to make a purchase at that moment.

Obviously, this all depends on the product, demand for that product, and other factors.

@DDFD at DivorcedDadFrugalDad.com, Well, I started with $19.99, like I said, then I did $39.99, and I finally ended with $29.99. I should add that I changed it to $29.95 after doing a split test and finding out that the .95 worked slightly better than the .99. It was only about 100 test subject, at about 55 to 45, so it may need a little more of a run to get the perfect test results, but I went with it and it’s been doing good for me so far!
