Hmmm...you've got me thinking now Pat. I am wondering if I should raise the price of some of mine, especially my newest one that I just wrote for this year. It is very hard to tell what to price it at. I never tried for the $29.95 area because I thought that would be too high for an ebook. Now though, I am definitely thinking my books are priced too low especially for the amount of pages with some of them.

I think I may try to do an adjustment on even just one of them to see if it makes a difference. I haven't had many sales at all to do any comparisons as I just put up my affiliate program and such. I guess it would be easier for affiliates to be enticed to help promote though if they earned a little more for their efforts.

Any thoughts on this that could help me out? If you have an affiliate program, do you find that they are interested enough to take what you have to offer and the price you now have it set on offers enough for everyone?

thanks!

I found this post very interesting. Maybe the 29.95 vs. 29.99 isn't statistically significant, but it's interesting anyways. What about charging 29.99 and 9/10 like gas stations?

I like the idea of just switching to a new price and if someone complains give them a refund or the lower price. How else are you supposed to find the happy medium? I think the customers will understand.

@Pat, I think it's also important to note to NOT change your prices often, as this will lead your potential customers to wait until a price is established. In certain situations, I have seen it where people will wait to see if a price will continue to drop... or although if you make it clear in your sales pitch that this price will not last for long, then people will definitely be more willing to make a purchase at that moment.

Obviously, this all depends on the product, demand for that product, and other factors. :)

Jeff´s last blog post..What’s Happening Here at WritersHall?

@Studenomics, Thanks MD, you're ahead of me. I'll do want to put ads up eventually (probably in May), but I want to do it right. I'll post what my thinking process is, and maybe you and everyone else can help :)

@DDFD at DivorcedDadFrugalDad.com, Well, I started with $19.99, like I said, then I did $39.99, and I finally ended with $29.99. I should add that I changed it to $29.95 after doing a split test and finding out that the .95 worked slightly better than the .99. It was only about 100 test subject, at about 55 to 45, so it may need a little more of a run to get the perfect test results, but I went with it and it's been doing good for me so far!
