Many thanks for this series.

I’m still hung up on the $30/month for API. People can already pay me via PayPal, with their credit cards, and they don’t have to have a PayPal acct.

Until volume of sales is high, you could even get paid via PayPal then shoot the ebook PDF to the customer within the next 24 hours, manually That even saves the $5/month e-junkie fee.

[I'm coming off as a real cheapskate, huh!]

I have to say the timing of coming across this part of your blogs is lucky

Ive had an outline for my ebook for about a year but never did anything with it till now. But to see this all set out in a step by step form gives me a guide line that I can follow and implement. hahaha, i feel like im cheating again

@Heather, you’re pretty much spot on with the whole 1099 thing. Here’s a link to a forum with the very same discussion:

This is probably why e-junkie doesn’t handle the actual affiliate transactions, because they don’t want to deal with that part of the equation, and it will be up to you (or better yet, your accountant, to do all of that paperwork).

Usually, paypal or your shopping cart handler of choice can easily separate names and payments that you’ve made to people, making it a little easier for you.

I’m pretty sure clickbank is the same way, but I may need a second opinion on that.

Pat, okay, wait a minute. Are you saying that e-junkie users have to pay their affiliates themselves rather than e-junkie handling this part of the transaction? That sounds like things could get complicated because, if you end up paying an affiliate more than $600, then I would imagine that you would need to send them a 1099 come tax time.
