I think that the way to look at this is that success has its ups and downs.

The thing that sticks out though is the unbelievers.

Personally, whether your figures are true or not, people will take away what they want to. I take it as something to aspire to – I use it as a motivator. If someone else can do it, so can I.

For you, you know what is real and what is not, so stuf those who do not believe!

Fantastic!
In my last business experience (9-5 job) my annually salary was exactly as what you earned in one month. I am surprised. I am wondering if I can ever have an income from this industry. But when I check out your reports I say to my self that if I work hard I can make it.

Thanks for the great post! I agree with a few people on here the hard part is figuring out what it is that I have to offer people. I have recently started creating my writing services (sunshinewrites.com) work in progress. I still am hoping that it will be what I need to create a portable lifestyle.
It’s so hard to decipher exactly what you are good at and have to specially offer people. I am so envious of so many who seem to have it all figured out! I thought by 30 I would know.
Thank you for lighting the path a bit more through your posts. At least I will know at some point how to be more successful when I can figure out what I have to offer the world.

Hey Rich, thanks for the comment. Yes, I do host my sites on Bluehost – several of my niche sites are on Bluehost, plus some client projects as well. I have never had any issues with them and have always had a good experience, which is why I recommend them. I’m sure there are other great hosts out there, some that could probably pay a larger commission too, but I only recommend what I know and use and can provide answers to questions for if needed.

Hey Pat,

Didn’t know Yaro had an Ad Management solution. I’ve been using OIO Publisher like Joshua. I just took a look at Cranky Ads and it seems like it is very similar to OIO Publisher in terms of features. However from the looks of it, seems like Cranky Ads may have the better looking interface for the admin and user panels. I have not used Cranky Ads before but might try it on a site that I have to see how it works out.

As far as having ads Geo-targeted to the users location, that would be killer! Surprised none of these services jumped on that already. They just have to implement a little bit of code to make that happen I’m sure.

One comment though about having different Advertising Orders for different advertisers. Seems like some companies in specialized niches will require custom advertising orders. This is great because you can negotiate better terms for you and the advertiser that may not be displayed on your site.

However the process is not as “passive” and it seems to take out the “automation” of having the advertiser pick which zone he or she wants, going with the rates that are already listed, deciding how many months to display their ad, and doing it all without ever contacting you. I would love to be hands off as much as possible but it seems like with certain companies that will probably not be the case.
