Gone Fishin'Hey everyone. I just wanted to give you a heads up that my dad and I will be embarking on a 3 day deep sea fishing trip today. We’re taking a boat out of Pt. Loma Sportfishing in San Diego down to Mexico to hopefully catch some albacore, yellowtail, and maybe even a bluefin tuna.

My dad and I used to go fishing a lot. One summer I think we almost went out in the ocean every weekend. It’s been a long time though, since I did the whole graduate from high school, go to college and get married thing, but I’m really looking forward to spending some quality time with my dad. Maybe I could get some parenting advice from him now that I’m going to be a father myself, because he was definitely a great dad.

Here’s to Dads all around the world!

buying-a-house-self-employedMy wife and I are looking to purchase a home. Ideally, with an $8000 tax credit for first-time home buyers (which for now expires on December 1st), our lease on our apartment ending in December, and a baby due in January, we’re hoping to have a decent starter home in San Diego by the end of this year. I get pretty giddy when I think about it.

Unfortunately, from what I understand so far, being self-employed makes it a little more difficult.

What I quickly learned while trying to get pre-approved for a loan is that if you’re self-employed, most loan officers and banks will not even speak with you if you have not been self-employed for at least 2 years. 2 years! Of course, it wasn’t always this way, and there were programs to help the self-employed with getting a loan much easier before, but since the economy has been the way it is, those programs have since halted. Pregnancy testI’m happy to announce that my wife and I just found out we’re going to have a baby!

Lots of feelings and thoughts are going through my head. Joy (woohoo!), curiosity (boy or girl, what will he or she look like?), scared (I’ve never really held a baby before…), anxious (we have a lot of stuff to take care of before it’s born).

This makes everything I’m doing online that much more important. I want to make sure I’m still able to work from home so I can watch our baby grow up and be there for every special moment, and I want to make sure I am always able to provide for my family too. Click to continue…

WeddingThis weekend, my wife and I are flying up to Northern California to attend a wedding. We’re really excited, because the last wedding we went to we didn’t really have time to eat, we didn’t get to speak to anyone for more than 5 minutes, and we were super tired. That wedding was…our own.

We knew our wedding day would be like that – a day that we would remember for the rest of our lives, but also one that would go by so fast we could hardly savor the moments. I think that’s why we’re so excited about this weekend’s wedding because we get to sit back, relax and just celebrate without having to worry if I’m going to hit all of my dance steps. As I said last week, each weekend I’ll put up a fun, random post that doesn’t have to do with online businesses and work-at home type stuff. So today, if you haven’t already met him, this is our 4 month old Maltese puppy, Gizmo!

Gizmo is an awesome puppy. He keeps us busy all day and is a very fast learner. April and I are going on our first vacation up to Northern California next weekend after getting Gizmo, so it’s going to be a little tough for us because we’re really attached. After doing some research online, we found a great service for pet-sitting called SleepOverRover. Click to continue…

Since I write a new post every other day, I think it would be fun to have a non-internet business post thrown in the mix. I’m going to fill the weekend post with some random, fun stuff for everyone’s enjoyment.

Today, I’d like to share a personal video from my family’s video library. It’s me and April’s first dance as husband and wife at our wedding reception in San Diego, CA.

The first part is us slow dancing to Peter Cetera’s Glory of Love, and the second part is…well…a surprise! Enjoy!

p.s. look out for April’s awesome hat throw!

p.p.s. fun fact: over half the people at the reception thought the DJ really messed up :)

If you’re not interested in my recent wedding and honeymoon, feel free to ignore this post and come back in a couple of days when I talk more about making money online. I just wanted to take a moment to share this special moment in my life with you, since it’s the reason why I’ve been gone the last half-month (hence all the guest posts.

I was recently married on 2/21/09 in San Diego. I make a joke about this date with my wife all of the time, and she always gives me a funny look as a result. The date, February 21st, also known as 2/21, or as I like to say, “two to one”, like two families becoming one…hah. Anyways…it had been raining the two previous weekends, so we were really blessed to have a nice, clear sunny day in San Diego for our wedding. Click to continue…

Guess what? It’s my birthday! I am 26 years young and I’m going to take this opportunity to show you that I’m not all about analyzing earnings, online experiments, numbers and charts. I want to give you a peek at the other things I’m about, away from the internet. I want to show you who Pat really is. Click to continue…
