5 Great Reads From Around the Web

As much as I love to write blog posts and give away content here on SPI, I also enjoy reading other posts from a number of different websites around the blogosphere. There is so much great stuff out there, I know it’s impossible to catch it all, so hopefully I can help you out by sharing some of the things I’ve read lately.

The Secret to Growing Your Blog Twice as Fast with Half the Effort - My buddy Glen from Viperchill.com bring us yet another fantastic post where he shares a secret that I also use to help grow my blog.

How to Build Trust In A Skeptical Online World – Yaro Starak from Entrepreneurs-Journey.com tells us how to build trust in a world where people usually lean towards thinking most things are scams. A very valuable post that anyone doing online business should read.

The Third Product: Build a Business Around Your Blog – James Tayo from Entrepreneur Blog’r writes a guest post on Paul Cunningham’s BloggingTeacher.com about what you can do to make money on your blog if you’re not into creating eBooks or membership websites.

Seven Friends That You Need in Life – Karen Ruby, a personal development writer for AMeaningfulExistence.com, outlines the types of friends that we need in our lives that help us live happily and help us reach our goals.

What It Means to Live the Internet Lifestyle – Rob, a really smart (and profitable) 16 year old blogger from RobsWebTips.com (man, I really wish I started doing this when I was 16!), who I recently befriended and had the chance to speak to a lot recently, gives us some thoughts about what it really means to live the internet lifestyle.

Thanks, as always, for your support for SPI and everything I do. Monday’s post will be my monthly income report for May – which has some interesting numbers I’m excited to share with you.

Until then. Cheers!

A Valuable Resource for Bloggers and Internet Marketers Alike

I love podcasts. They’re a great way to consume useful (and often entertaining) information when I’m doing things like driving, running, or working out at the gym. That’s why I’m excited to start my own podcast soon, which I hope you’ll be a fan of once it is finally launched.

You’ve heard me talk about the Internet Business Mastery Podcast before – it’s really what motivated me to venture into the online world to make a successful living. It definitely deserves it’s ranking as the #1 Internet Business Podcast since 2005.

However, while on an iTunes search for more “blogging related” podcasts, I really wasn’t impressed with the results I found…

Until now.

A couple of months ago, I was contacted by a couple of guys to do an interview for a podcast that I had never heard of before. In preparing for the interview, I did some research about their podcast and what their mission was, and I was really impressed. I’m excited to share that resource with you today:

BlogCastFm: A Podcast For Bloggers, By Bloggers

BlogCastFM was started by Srinivas and Sid (readers of SPI who you may have seen in the comments section before), and they interview bloggers at all levels of experience and expertise who provide fantastic information and blogging tips for everyone to listen to.

During my interview with Srinivas, I was really blown away by the quality of questions that he asked and the overall flow of the conversation we recorded. It was fun, and I know anyone listening to any of the 33 recorded interviews in their archives will find them useful one way or another.

You can subscribe to their podcast in iTunes if you’d like, and if you have the time and you feel the content is useful, leave them a kind review.

Thanks again Srinivas and Sid for your hard work, and the great interviews.

Wishing you all the best, and have a great weekend! Stay tuned for my March Monthly Income Report this coming Monday!

Cheers!

Love Everyday – An eBook Project

As many of you know, I’m in the middle of a move. We’re about 90% complete, so look for some killer posts next week when I finally get settled into my new office.

By the way, if I see another can of paint, I’m going to go crazy!

LOVEveryday_Pink_Cover1Even though I don’t have much time to write new content today, I do have something awesome to share with you.

Dustin, my friend over at Engaged Marriage, has worked really hard the last couple of months putting together a free eBook, which is a compilation of pieces about Love from some of the best relationship writers on the web. Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and if you didn’t know (I didn’t), this week is actually National Marriage Week.

Who knew!

Anyways, although I’m not a relationship blogger, I was honored to be asked to contribute a piece to this eBook. As you know, family is my number one priority and the motivation behind all the work I do online, so I happily accepted the offer.

Even if you’re not in a relationship, I invite you read the eBook, which again is totally free, and you don’t even need to subscribe to any newsletters or anything like that. If you read my piece, which is on lucky page #13, I’m sure you’ll find that what I wrote is something that can be applied to anything in life, not just your relationships, but with your businesses, goals, dreams and hopes.

So check out Love Every Day (on scribd), and look out for my piece on page 13. I hope you enjoy! And Dustin, if you’re reading this, post – job well done!

Thanks everyone for your patience as I situate myself into a new workspace. All the best to you!

Stuff I’ve Been Reading Lately

stuff-reading-latelyI’m about 90% finished with the eBook that I’ve been working on for the last month (I cranked out 10 killer pages yesterday!), but I’ve still had some time to read some excellent articles and blog posts around the web that I’d like to share with you today.

For Bloggers

Problogging – 10 Things I Wish I Knew When I Started: This is an excellent guest post on Problogger which is a must read, even for the experienced blogger, because it’s a great reminder of exactly what we should be doing in case we’ve veered off course a little.

5 Basic Tips for Video Optimization: For those of you who are expanding your blog and brand onto YouTube, here are 5 excellent tips to make sure you’re getting the best results for your efforts.

Podcasts

Internet Business Q&A From Academy Members: Sterling and Jay from the Internet Business Mastery Podcast answer questions directly from existing academy members and share them with the public. Good stuff!

Interview With Alborz Fallah – A Million Dollar Blogger: This is probably one of the most inspiring interviews I’ve ever heard in my life. In case you don’t have time to listen, there’s a PDF transcript that takes about 1/3rd of your time to finish.

Resources

1Password: Do you log in to a billion different websites that all have different usernames and passwords? This is the tool that helps me organize ALL of my passwords so I don’t have to waste space in my brain to memorize everything. Plus, you can auto generate complicated passwords that are less likely to get stolen or cracked too.

RescueTime: This is the time management software that I use, which tells me each week that I’m spending way too much time on Facebook. Put it to use, and see where you’re wasting your time.

Other Interesting Reads

Do Young Entrepreneurs Need to Go To College?: Erica from Erica.biz discusses a VERY touchy subject for many people. Join the conversation, and scroll down to see what I had to say. Do you agree?

Building a $1,000,000 Website in 12 Months: Glen from Viperchill is one of the most hard-working and inspiring bloggers I know. I’m very fortunate to be good friends with him, and totally recommend following his progress on this little big case study of his.

WingSuit Base Jumping: This doesn’t have anything to do with internet business or self-improvement, but it’s a totally awesome video of these guys in suits with wings that just makes your jaw drop to the floor. I always watch this when I don’t have any energy, and it totally gives me a quick boost.

All right, back to my eBook. Thanks for your encouragement, and hopefully within a week or two, you’ll see a new website design finally go live, and a killer eBook that you’ll have free instant access to. :)

Don’t forget to love what you do.

Cheers!

The Best of the Smart Passive Income Blog

the-best-of-passive-incomeHere are a few of my best blog posts from this past year that I’d like to resurface for you. Sometimes (actually, most of the time), great contents gets buried in a blog, so it’s good for your readers (new readers especially), to bring these back every once and a while. They aren’t necessarily the most commented on, or the most popular, but ones that I think provide some of the best or most useful content.
