My First Month of eHow Unwrapped

This will be the biggest assessment and study of anyone’s first month on eHow – EVER. Okay, maybe not, but I am going to give you lots of information. Note that all of the charts, graphs, numbers and earnings are from my own personal experience with eHow, and everything I tell you will be my own recommendation and opinion. I cannot guarantee that if you follow the same path you will do the same, but hey, maybe you’ll do even better! I hope so, and I’ll try to help.

As you may recall, I planned to write an average of 5 articles a day on eHow. Currently, I have 130 written, and because I started writing on November 4th, I consider myself right on track to meet my goal of 150 by December 4th. I decided to write this blog post a few days early to keep track of everything each month, instead of each month + 4 days. Therefore, all of the following is based on 130 articles over a period of 28 days.

Niche Blog vs. eHOW: A New Game Plan

With all of the people commenting and watching my every move on eHow, you’d think I was possibly running for president or something! Anywho, I just wanted to say thanks for all of your responses to my “I Need Your Help” post. I don’t think I’ve ever had that many comments come through on a single post in such a short period of time.

I’m glad to see that I’ve started a kind of debate over the benefits of writing on eHow vs. writing for yourself on your own blog. I’m glad this is happening because I’m hoping I will be able to answer people’s questions as to which one is better for them.

My eHow Experiment…Am I Going About It All Wrong? I Need Your Help!

I received a comment about 5 minutes ago about The Math Behind My eHow Experiment, and it’s left me a bit confused and uneasy about my entire experiment. I really appreciated the comment, don’t get me wrong – and it may have come at the perfect time, so I need your help.

Here is the exact comment, regarding my 5 article a day (aka 1825 articles a year) experiment:

The Math Behind My eHow Experiment – 40k+ a year?

I spent time last night writing an article on eHow about my big little experiment, why I was doing it and how I will be able to easily write 5 articles a day. I was a little dissapointed this morning to find that my article was removed from publication, because it contained “Unsuitable Article Content.” Boo.

Although it was true that my article was not an exact step by step process, and I did mention some of my personal goals, I had already received 9 comments within a few hours from fellow eHow users about how motivating the article was, and that it inspired them to write some more articles for eHow themselves. That was the point of writing such an article, and again – I’m a little sad it was removed.

eHow actually allowed me to rewrite the article to fit their “Suitable Content Requirements,” so thats what I did. Now its basically about how to be an efficient writer on eHow. Although it can still be motivating to people, it doesn’t have the same feeling, at least for me. Here is a link to the newly fashioned article, in case you were curious.

My eHOW Experiment – Day 4 Update and Initial Findings

So, it’s only day 4 of my Big Little Experiment Writing at eHow, and I have to say its been quite an experience already. I know I said I was going to update you every month, but I wanted to give you my perspective right from the start, just in case you’re  thinking about writing on eHow someday too. Hopefully you can learn from my experience and better utilize your time and effort.

My Big Little Experiment Writing at eHOW

I was so inspired by an interview I read at WritingForYourWealth.com about an eHow contributor, that I just had to try something crazy. For those of you who don’t know what eHow is, it’s a website where you can contribute “How To” articles and get paid for the money made through advertising on your particular articles.

You can honestly write about anything, so it’s a good website for people who may not know enough about one subject, or are just itching to start writing without going through the process of starting a blog and all of that technical stuff.

My big little experiment is this:
